Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in the theatre at a young age. When he was studying at Emory University in 1952 he performed in shows on campus and in Atlanta. Following his air force service and appearing in an airforce production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in 2005, and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in 1957. In 1960, the family relocated to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working with Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the children's local Saturday morning TV show Bum Bum and His Buddies that they self-funded. In the following year, they established the Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also known as Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) during this period.
